FIELD PREPARATION For All Divisions

Home team will be responsible for preparing the fields before the game.

Setup includes:

  • Setting up all bases.
  • Inspecting fields for holes and other hazards.
  • Raking or dragging the infield to create a level playing surface.
  • Chalking the batters boxes, coach boxes, and foul lines up to the grass line.
  • Watering down the field as needed.
  • Putting away chalkers.
  • Putting away water hoses and rakes.

Visiting team is responsible for putting away the field equipment and bases in the equipment box.

All equipment (hoses, rakes, bases, etc.) removed from the equipment box should be returned and placed in a neat and orderly position upon completion of use.

Managers should encourage parents to help with the field setup and cleanup so the managers and coaches can spend more time working with the players.

Both teams are responsible for cleaning out their dugouts after each game and around their bleachers areas.

Fields should not be used when saturated by rain or over irrigation. Damage to the field may force the City to close the field for repairs and may result in the loss of field use privileges.

IMPORTANT:

Lets work as a team to keep our parks clean of trash so City Park personnel can focus on caring for the fields and facilities to ensure our children good safe fun play.
