The Tucson Mountain Little League All-Star team selection process is multifaceted and is designed to be as objective and fair as possible to all players that are eligible to be evaluated for an All-Star team.
Nothing is more important to Tucson Mountain Little League than having a fair and equitable process for evaluating and selecting players for our All-Star teams.
The process defined by Tucson Mountain Little League takes into account regular season performance, playing ability, performance via a skills assessment, and input from managers/coaches and peers via a nomination and voting process.
The All-Star Team selection process is a fair and equitable process for all players. It is designed to be objective and fact-based - removing subjectivity, favoritism, bias, and opinions as much as possible from the selection of players.
|
| |
Coach Selection
- In order to be selected to manage or coach a team, the candidate must meet the eligibility requirements as specified by Little League in the Tournament Rules and Guidelines.
- Each Division All Star team will have one manager, one coach and one assistant coach. (Little League Rules: Permit One Manager and two Coaches only if their are 13 or 14 players)
- The TMLL Board of Directors retains the right to disqualify any manager or coach they deem inappropriate to represent Tucson Mountain Little League in the All Star Tournament.
|
Player Selection (All Divisions)
- All players must meet all Little League player eligibility criteria.
- A minimum of twelve and a maximum of fourteen players will be selected for each team. The number of players selected is the decision of the All Star team managers.
- Players must have participated in at least 60% of regular season games in order to be eligible for All-Star play.
- The All-Star Permission/Questionnaire form must be completed and signed before a player can be considered for an All-Star team.
- Parents and players must agree to all conditions of the All-Star player's agreement. Failure to adhere to the agreement shall result in the player's removal from the team. Managers and coaches do not have the authority to override league policy.
- A player that quits or is removed from an All-Star team may not be eligible to participate in All-Stars the next season. (Exception; medical with doctor's certification).
- The duration of the All-Star commitment extends from June 15th through September, as long as the team continues to advance, and may include games, practices and activities on Sundays.
